PIC Insurance Brokers is the largest 100% NZ-owned and independent insurance broker in New Zealand. We take a consultative approach, finding out what’s important to you, your family, your business and how it works.
With so many insurance providers in the market, no single provider has the right solution for everyone. To ensure you get the solutions you need, our brokers remain independent so that they can search the entire market. This ensures that any coverage our brokers arrange is perfectly tailored to you to the finest detail.
When you choose to use PIC as your insurance broker you will also have a dedicated team of claims specialists. This means whenever you need to make a claim, our team will walk you through the whole process to achieve the best possible outcome.
The PIC Story
A business built on relationships
PIC Insurance Brokers was founded in Panmure by Mike Garner in 1989. From the beginning, relationships with our clients and our people have been a valued part of PIC’s business. PIC still retains a number of our foundation clients and employees – this is something we’re very proud of.
Our team of brokers has knowledge and experience across a range of insurance products including life, health, domestic, marine, and commercial – and we have a specialist Employee Benefits team providing insurance through employers of all sizes. We also have our own team of claims specialists so we can ensure our clients are well looked after every step of the way.
At PIC, our grassroots beginnings are an important part of who we are, and this is reflected in our warm, friendly workplace culture, and organisations we partner with through sponsorships.

PIC Insurance Brokers represent New Zealand as members of the Global Broker Network. This representation gives us access to 110 independent insurance brokers in 230 cities covering 140 countries. So wherever your business takes you, we can put you in touch with a fellow member who can assist you with your insurance requirements.
Asia Australia Alliance (AAA)
PIC Insurance Brokers are members of the Asia Australia Alliance (AAA). The AAA brings together a network of like-minded insurance broking firms in the Asia Australasia region to create a resource that benefits our clients throughout the area. Should one of our clients start operating or purchase a business in the region, we’re able to arrange insurance for them through one of our partners. It’s important to know that members of AAA are all independent and 100% owned in their respective countries.
