When you choose to use PIC as your insurance broker you will also have a dedicated team of claims specialists. This means whenever you need to make a claim, our team will walk you through the entire process to achieve the best outcome possible, in a timely manner.
Do you need to make a claim for house, contents or commercial property?
If you have suffered a loss or damage in one of these areas, please complete the General Claims Form and follow the process below:
Steps to take:
- Gather together all the information you need to support your claim (see below).
- Complete the General Claims Form.
- Contact any third parties involved and notify them that you have a potential claim.
- Take reasonable steps to minimise the extent of the loss or damage.
- Provide supporting documents to assist with your claim review (see below).
Take note: please complete and submit your claim form in one sitting.
The following items can support your claim:
- Photos
- Proof of ownership
- Repair or Replacement Quotes
- Drying costs (for flood related damage)
- Third party details (if another party is involved)
- Damage report
- Police file reference if the police were notified
- Make-safe invoice
- Emergency repair/Replacement invoice
- Any other evidence to substantiate your loss
Do you need to make a claim for pleasurecraft or commercial hull?

- Contact any third parties involved and notify them that you have a potential claim.

- Surveyor’s Report – if applicable

Do you need to make a claim for your motor vehicle?
If your private or commercial vehicle has been involved in an accident or has been stolen, please complete the Motor Vehicle Claims Form and follow the process below:

- Gather together all the information you need to support your claim (see below).
- Complete the Motor Vehicle Claims Form.
- Contact any third parties involved and notify them that you have a potential claim.
- Provide supporting documents to assist with your claim review (see below).

- Police file reference if the police were notified

Do you need to make a liability claim?
If you are being held liable, or have been notified of a potential claim against you, please complete the Liability Claims Form and follow the liability claims process below:
Steps to take:
- Gather together all the information you need to support your claim (see below).
- Complete the Liability Claims Form.
- Do not admit liability or enter into any settlement agreement with any party.
- Provide supporting documents to assist with your claim review (see below).

The following items can support your claim:
- Notice of allegation from a third party
- Photos
- Third party details
- Contract of work you were engaged to carry out
- Incident Report – Description of what happened, including date, time, and location.
- Police Report – If applicable (e.g., theft, injury, or criminal activity).
- Witness Statements – If available, to support your version of events.
Do you need to make a cargo claim?
If you discover that your cargo has been lost or damaged, please complete the Marine Cargo Claims Form and follow the process below:

- Gather together all the information you need to support your claim (see below).
- Complete the Marine Cargo Claims Form.
- Contact any third parties involved and notify them that you have a potential claim.
- Provide supporting documents to assist with your claim review (see below).

The following items can support your claim:
- Bill of Lading or Air Waybill
- Commercial invoice
- Insurance certificate
- Copy of the Notice of Claim lodged against your carrier
- Any documentation relating to the out-turn or receipt of your goods
- Local Carriers Waybill (where applicable)
- A copy of temperature records (where available and applicable)
- Invoices to confirm salvage or sale price of goods (where applicable)
- Copy of instructions to carrier regarding carriage temperature (where applicable)
- Damage evidence – Photos, survey report, or delivery receipt.
Do you need to make a claim for carrier's liability?
If you have suffered a loss or damage in one of these areas, please complete the Marine Carrier's Liability Claim Form and follow the process below:

- Gather together all the information you need to support your claim (see below).
- Complete the Marine Carrier's Liability Claim Form.
- Contact any third parties involved and notify them that you have a potential claim.
- Provide supporting documents to assist with your claim review (see below).

- Commercial Invoice/Supplier Invoice
- Claim against carrier – A copy of the valued claim made against the carrier
- Any communication related to the loss or damage
- Damage Evidence – Photos, survey report, or delivery receipt
- Contract of Carriage – If not under Limited Carrier’s Risk, provide terms of carriage
